Buyer Eligibility

Bus and Tour Operators (Members and Non-Members) may register as Appointment-Taking Buyers.

Buyers attend Marketplace to meet with travel industry suppliers and gather destination and tour component information to plan future tours and charters.

Important Policy

Buyers may not promote or sell their own services during appointments.

Operators wishing to promote or sell their services must register as a Seller. Any Buyer found selling during appointments will be invoiced the full Seller registration fee.

Buyer Qualifications

To participate in the appointment program, your company must:

  • Plan or operate group tours or charters

  • Produce at least 24 tour itineraries per year

  • Have been in business at least 2 years

  • Make purchasing decisions for tour components such as destinations, attractions, lodging, dining, or transportation

ABA may request company history or supporting information to confirm eligibility.

Appointment Program Requirements

Appointment-Taking Buyers:

  • Receive a booth and appointment schedule on the Business Floor

  • Must attend all scheduled appointments

  • Must be present at their booth during all business sessions (Sunday–Tuesday)

  • Must complete the Marketplace company profile before requesting appointments

Buyers may share their appointment schedule with a Rotation Delegate or Operator Representative.

If Requirements Are Not Met

Tour operators who do not meet Buyer qualifications will be invoiced $445 USD.

Seller – Appointment Delegate

Members: $1,845 Early Bird | $1,995 Regular (per registrant)

Appointment Delegates schedule and conduct prescheduled appointments with Buyers during Marketplace business sessions. Sellers move from Buyer booth to Buyer booth on the Business Floor for their meetings.

The Seller appointment schedule includes 54 appointment slots.

How Many Appointment Delegates Are Allowed?

  • One Appointment Delegate is available to all registered companies if space allows.
  • Two Appointment Delegates are allowed if your company received 32+ Buyer requests at Marketplace 2026.
  • Three Appointment Delegates are allowed if your company received 64+ Buyer requests at Marketplace 2026.

First-time attendees and companies that did not attend Marketplace 2026 may register one Appointment Delegate.

Appointment Sharing Delegates attend Marketplace without their own appointment schedule.

They may:

  • Attend education sessions, networking events, and seminars
  • Access the Business Floor
  • Join meetings with their company’s Appointment Delegate

They cannot schedule or receive their own appointments.

Adventure tours, agricultural attractions, amusement/theme parks, aquariums, breweries, distilleries, wineries, casinos, caves, dining venues, dinner theaters, entertainment venues, festivals and events, cruises and boating, gardens and arboretums, historic attractions, museums, shopping destinations, sightseeing tours, sports events, theaters, trains, travel plazas, and zoos.

Receptive Operators
Receptive operators and tour planners who coordinate travel experiences for groups.

Charter Operators
Companies providing charter transportation services.

Associate Members
Bus manufacturers, equipment providers, and service suppliers.

Allied Associations
State, provincial, regional, and affiliated industry associations.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility: ABA Member Categories: Bus Manufacturers, Hardware Suppliers, Service Suppliers

Note | Travel Industry suppliers are unable to purchase booth space, however, they can become a sponsor at the Contributor Level or higher to receive the sponsor benefit of booth space.
