Join ABA's Policy Subcommittees
Transportation Subcommittee
The new Transportation Subcommittee, led by ABA’s government affairs team, will bring together interested members of ABA, the Bus Industry Safety Council (BISC), and the National Bus Traffic Association (NBTA) to provide practical perspectives on policies affecting motorcoach operators, intercity bus carriers, and the broader passenger transportation industry.
Serving as an industry brain trust, members will help ABA identify emerging challenges, evaluate legislative and regulatory ideas, and understand how federal policies affect day-to-day operations. The group may also provide feedback on specific policy initiatives and agency proposals. One of its first priorities will be helping ABA develop industry recommendations for FMCSA’s Beyond Compliance program.
The Transportation Subcommittee is expected to meet quarterly, with additional meetings as needed. Members interested in sharing their expertise and helping shape ABA’s transportation policy priorities are encouraged to participate.

Travel & Tour Subcommittee
The new Travel & Tour Subcommittee is integral to the motorcoach industry, helping generate $158 billion in annual economic activity. This new subcommittee will give members a stronger voice in how ABA supports and grows this important part of the industry.
The group will explore issues and opportunities impacting group travel, from changing customer and travel trends to destination access, workforce needs, partnerships, and stronger connections between tour operators, motorcoach operators, destinations, attractions, and industry suppliers. Members will also help identify new programs, resources, and opportunities that ABA can pursue to better support the tour and travel community.
The Travel & Tour Subcommittee will meet quarterly, with ad hoc meetings when timely issues or opportunities call for more immediate member input.
